Did you know that Christingle means "Christ Light"?
We have had a lovely morning in Elm Class making our Christingles and thinking about what each part symbolises.
Children, maybe you could tell your grown ups all about the different parts of the Christingle and what they symbolise.
(Just in case you've forgotten......The orange represents the world. The red ribbon is to remind us that Jesus died to save us. The 4 cocktail sticks represent the 4 seasons, Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, or the 4 compass points of the world North, South, East and West. The sweets and fruit represent the food that God provides for us. The candle represents Jesus, the light and lastly the silver foil reflects his light and love).
