Rowan Class have been exploring what belonging means to them and to members of the Jewish Community.
We thought reflectively about what belonging was and the different types of groups we belonged to.
"I feel happy to belong to gym club and join in with my friends."
"I feel excited to belong to the lovely "Big Mouth" theatre group."
Then we enjoyed a Shabbat meal to experience what it was like to belong to a different faith group and how this was very important for Jewish people to help them feel a sense of belonging within their community.
"When Jews share Shabbat they feel like they belong to the Jewish faith because they light candles and sing prayers together. Dad says a blessing by putting his hands on their heads and share a special meal. They chat and relax with each other. They belong to a family."
