Traditional Tales

Traditional Tales

This term we have been looking at Traditional Tales.

During the school holidays the children shared some stories with their families. When we returned to school we discussed which tales we would like to learn more about in school.

The Gingerbread Man

Picture 1

We had a great time making our own gingerbread people out of salt dough.

Making the salt dough was great for our gross motor and mathematical development and decorating them developed our creative and fine motor skills.

Jack and the Beanstalk

Picture 1

We made our own Jack and the Giant!

We had great fun drawing around the tallest and smallest people in the school. We then measured our won feet and compared them to the size of the giants footsteps! We measured them using cubes and compared our feet with our friends.

Cinderella's Ball

We were all invited to Cinderella's Ball where we came dressed as our favorite character from a traditional tale. We made and decorated biscuits and enjoyed dancing at the ball.
