At Marchwood church of England Infant School we believe in the importance of
developing the whole child through offering a broad, balanced and creative
curriculum where individuality is valued. We believe young children learn best
through first hand experiences and play, with an accent on fun for both the
learner and the teacher. We have high expectations for learning and behaviour and
actively raise each child's self esteem through positive praise, valuing them as
individuals and openly celebrating their success and achievement.
In this
warm, caring and secure atmosphere we promote respect and consideration for
others and for the environment. Our children learn right from wrong: to listen
and to be listened to: to take responsibility for their own actions, and become
independent, self-confident learners. They will reach their potential through
well planned, differentiated and relevant learning opportunities, which
challenge and motivate them. We are aware of, and accommodate, different styles
of learning, with an emphasis on thinking skills and reflection. We support
collaborative and independent learning and offer a range of high quality
resources to further support and enhance the teaching and learning
process.
In this friendly and Christian community our children flourish
socially, emotionally, spiritually and intellectually. We are confident in our
ability to prepare the children of today to be lifelong learners in the world of
tomorrow
School Aims Our school aims, in partnership with the
home, to assist each child in his/her personal growth. This involves creating an
environment in which the child's intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual
journey can be developed most effectively and where independence and
collaboration are encouraged and valued.
