After learning more about the habitat of The Selfish Crocodile, we wondered whether we might be lucky enough to find one lurking in Marchwood. Mrs Jerome seemed to remember a story from her home town of Bristol, where a crocodile was found in the local River Severn. We talked about the sorts of places we might want to look. The children suggested boggy, grassy lands near streams, rivers and woods. So we set off on our crocodile hunt to see what we could find.
Surprisingly we did find a crocodile, but it wasn't a real one! We talked about why it wouldn't be likely to find a real crocodile in Marchwood and the similarities and differences between our village and an African Village. We also discussed which features were natural and which were man made.
