Mrs Leath's Easy Scones.
Today the children in school made delicious scones with Mrs Leath. Here is the recipie for you to try at home.
Easy Scones
Ingredients:
225g
|
Plain flour
|
4 tsp
|
Baking powder
|
50g
|
Butter
|
25g
|
Caster sugar
|
150ml
|
Milk
|
1
|
Egg - optional
|
Method:
- Pre-heat the oven to 200C/Gas 6.
- Sift the flour and baking powder into a bowl.
- Rub in the butter until the mixture looks like bread crumbs.
- Stir in the Sugar.
- Add the milk and mix to make a dough.
- Roll out dough to a thickness of 2cm.
- Use a round pastry cutter to cut scones.
- Brush the top with a little beaten egg (or milk)
- Bake for 10-15mins. Until risen and golden.
Enjoy with butter or jam and cream!
