Learning for Life
As the new Headteacher of Marchwood C of E Infant School, am delighted to introduce you to our lovely school. As a school, we pride ourselves on our warm, welcoming family feel and are passionate about children learning for life through a rich and inspiring curriculum. We are situated within the village of Marchwood on the outskirts of the New Forest and benefit from expansive grounds, with opportunities to learn in every corner.
Whether your child is starting with us in September 2021 or whether you are interested in applying for a school place for September 2022, we hope you will find the information on these pages useful.
We recognise that choosing your first school for your child is such an important decision and we hope that we can give you a flavour of what to expect at Marchwood, particularly whilst any restrictions on visiting are still in place.
We have put together key information that many parents ask us about and aim to share as much information with you as possible, both on this page and across our newly designed website.
If you have any further questions, please do get in touch. We look forward to welcoming you to Marchwood!
If your child has been offered a school place with us for September 2021, you will shortly be offered an appointment to return your paperwork and pick up a welcome pack. Appointment bookings will be available from Monday 26th April. We look forward to meeting you!
We are very much hoping that as restrictions continue to lift, we will be able to offer a programme of transition visits for children starting with us in September 2021.
Proposed transition visits (to be confirmed)
Monday 28th June 1.00 - 3.00pm | Group A |
Monday 5th July 1.00 - 3.00pm | Group B |
Monday 12th July 1.00 - 3.00pm | Group A |
Monday 19th July 1.00 - 3.00pm | Group B |
We offer three staggered entry patterns and parents are able to choose the one they feel is most appropriate for the age and development of their child. A staggered entry allows children to settle into the new environment and routines with confidence. Establishing friendships and building relationships with adults in smaller groups helps children settle happily and quickly into school life. Details of our staggered entry offer is below.
If you would like your child to attend our school, please find the link to our admission arrangements page below.
Our published admission number (PAN) is 90 pupils to the reception year, making a total roll of 270. Normally children remain at this school until the end of the summer term in the educational year in which they are 7 years old, when they transfer to Junior School.
