Add a number to the box in the middle. What number facts can you tell me about the number?
For example if you picked the number 20 you could say:
it is an even number,
it has 2 tens and 0 units.
4 x 5 = 20 2 x 10 = 20 10 x 2 = 20
1 less than 20 is 19
1 more than 20 is 21
10 more than 20 is 30
10 less than 20 is 10
You could find 2 numbers which add together to make 20
You could draw the number with objects
If your number has tens and units e.g. 23 - you can draw it with sticks and crosses
( l l xxx )
Draw it as money - How many 10p's , How many 1p's
Perhaps you can think of a different way!
Try a few numbers and use different maths to show your answers.
Look at the example in the file below to give you some ideas.
You can then print off the blank grid or draw your own.
12.7.21 Our maths learning today would have been about using number lines so we have put a video together to show you how to use these. You can either go straight to the video resource centre or click on the link below.
