‘Learning for Life'

Vision Statement

We want our children to love learning, love each other, and care for God’s world, just as God asked people to look after His creation.

• We encourage children to be brave and stand up for what is right, like David with Goliath, trusting that God is with them.

• We nurture curiosity and resilience, inviting children to ask questions and grow in wisdom, just as Jesus welcomed children and taught them with love.

• We inspire children to show kindness and make a positive difference, like the Good Samaritan who helped someone in need.

Through all of this, we help every child grow and flourish, living the joyful “life in all its fullness” that Jesus promised.

Values

Our core Christian values of Love, Courage and Hope, are the foundations of our vision and underpin the Christian distinctiveness of our school. By developing a deep understanding of these values, children will develop the character traits that enable them to flourish and be inspired and motivated to make a positive difference in the world.

These include understanding how to build positive relationships with each other, having the courage to stand up for what is right, the knowledge to make good choices and the ability to respect and embrace one another’s differences. 

We also recognise that these values are not exclusively Christian and are accepted by people of all faiths or no faith at all. Although these values may be supported and shared by Christians and non-Christians alike, children are helped to understand what is distinctively Christian about each value through key bible stories alongside other stories that exemplify the values. These show us examples of how Christians live their life and the lessons we can learn from Jesus. Children and staff constantly refer to the values in everyday life and by ensuring our values are the cornerstone of life in school, our children are helped to understand how the Christian values of Love, Courage and Hope can be applied to their own lives.

Threaded throughout our values and school life is our inclusive practise

• Love: Inclusion is an act of love — making sure every child feels seen, valued, and safe.
• Courage: Inclusion requires courage — to challenge what is false, to speak up, and to change.
• Hope: Inclusion is built on hope — the belief that every child can thrive and contribute meaningfully

The school's Terms of Union with the National Society

Our Church School has been in Marchwood since it's foundation in 1854.The school has a Terms of Union with the National Society, which gives direction to our school vision for education. This document is displayed in the main school entrance. Please find a copy of this below.
