Learning for Life
The Pupil Premium is additional funding allocated to schools to support disadvantaged pupils and help overcome challenges they may face, including those arising from deprivation in order to improve education outcomes. These include pupils whose families are on a low income and are entitled to free school meals (FSM) and those looked after by the local authority (LAC).
A premium has also been introduced for children of armed service personnel (Service Children In Education - SCiE). This service premium is designed to support the emotional and social wellbeing of these pupils.
All schools are required to report on the amount of funding received and how this is being used. Once information is available, the impact of the funding should also be reported.
If your child is eligible for pupil premium free school meals, the school will receive additional money under the 'Pupil Premium' funding. To find out if your child is eligible, please follow the link https://www.hants.gov.uk/educationandlearning/freeschoolmeals/juniorsecondary and click on "check to see if you are eligible for free school meals". This is a very simple process; you will need your national insurance number and date of birth and you will be given an instant response.
