Information for Parents and visitors:

At the end of each Governing Body meeting, Governors spend time thinking about what the impact of the meeting has had (or will have) on the lives of the children at Marchwood C of E Infant School.

Here is what the Governors felt about the meeting dated 11th July 2017:

  • The presentation from Year Leaders (Mrs Gant / Mrs Bennett / Mrs Fisher) alongside our guest Mr Duncan Wells (who has recently led Middle Leader Training here at the school),  emphasised the importance of middle leadership on the achievement of children – particularly those recognised as 'disadvantaged' children

  • Governors felt the data (Year R & Year 2) was strong at the end of the school year 2016-17 and that there is evidence that gaps in attainment between identified groups are diminishing and being addressed

  • It was clear in the meeting that various visits undertaken by the Governors to the school during the working day are in line with the governors' strategic role and help keep a focus on school improvement, positive outcomes for children and both support and challenge the development of key priorities so that children achieve their best

  • Governors were pleased during this meeting that The elections for Chair and Vice Chairs secured the stable leadership of the GB for the year ahead

On October 3rd 2017 our Governors met for their first meeting of the new school year. It was a great opportunity for Governors to look back at 2016-2017 and recognise that the school was on track to meet the School Development Plan priorities and to celebrate the successes that our children had in their learning.
